Typography Event Poster
This design exhibition poster was for a project that reflects a typographer and their typeface. I was given the typographer William Caslon and I used his typeface “Caslon”. It was popular in British arts and craft movement and art nouveau. From my research I found that floral and decorative ornaments was used in art during these time periods. For my design I wanted to incorporate a floral aesthetic. To make the design more contemporary I used inspiration from modern floral type posters. I chose to use the ampersand because it is decorative and a unique character of the typeface. I have the ampersand intertwining through the word “CASLON” to reflect the aesthetic of contemporary type posters.
